Growing up in Abilene, Kansas, I was surrounded by what society has deemed “blue-collar workers” – folks who wake up every morning prepared to not only work hard, but also work smart. I’ve since been inspired by the work ethic I witnessed in farmers, ranchers, builders, contractors and the like, and in my 30-year career as a photographer, I’ve sought to follow in their footsteps. 

After a string of newspapers spanning from California to Kansas, I worked as the primary photographer for my alma mater, Kansas State University, before setting sail on my own. I’ve been fortunate to photograph U.S. presidents, prairie chickens, college football championship games, farmers feeding the world and everything in between. Today, my work generally falls into three categories – agriculture, building and industry – and I’ve been fortunate to find success in a career that allows me to highlight the importance of these sectors of the world.

In my personal life, I’m beyond lucky to be married to my beautiful wife, Katie, with whom I share two amazing kids. Life is good – and there is so much more to explore and discover.
